As St. Paul said in one of his letters, “I thank God every time I remember you.”  So it will be a blessing to me to remember all of you for your kindness, caring, and love shown in the death and funeral of my beloved Mary.  I received a tall stack of caring condolence cards.  Many of you came to calling hours or the funeral.  You have been a strong support to me as I return to my ministry with you during Pr. Perkins’ sabbatical.  She has phoned me to offer condolence.  Her husband, David, has been present all along the way.  Thank you.  What a blessing to be a part of God’s people.

You will hear soon, if not already, that our Music Director, Jeffrey Trimble, has resigned to accept a position closer to his home in Pennsylvania.  He will be with us through the 150th Anniversary worship celebration on September 9.  Take time to thank him for his years of faithful leadership and wish him Godspeed.  Council will work with Jeff and the Northeast Ohio Synod to search out an organist/choir director.

Thank you to all who helped with the funerals for Waldo Hipple, James Martin, and Paul Wilson.  Remember these families in your prayers and calls.

CELEBRATE GRAND-FAMILIES“Celebrate Grand-families” is a new support group for grandparents raising their grandchildren.  St. Paul is reaching out to support these families with Christian compassion and a place to meet and discuss their needs.  We are starting with the group with five families from the community, and more are welcome, if you know of anyone who would fit in.  While the women meet, we will have crafts, games, bible stories, snacks, help with homework, tutoring, and a fun social time for children.  Church members are needed to help with the children.  Sessions in August will be on Saturdays, August 11 and 25, from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm.  Please contact Brenda Ceplecci or Pastor Collins to help.
