Supply Pastor: Our guest Pastor for the month of November will be Reverend Bernie Dougherty. He is a retired minister from Stow. We look forward to having Pastor Bernie lead us in worship.
All Saints Book of Remembrance: Each year at All Saints, we remember those members of our congregation who have died over the past year. We have also made it a practice to inscribe their names in a Book of Remembrance. Our Book of Remembrance is fashioned after the words of the prophet Malachi (chapter 3, verse 16): “Then those who revered the Lord spoke with one another. The Lord took note and listened, and a Book of Remembrance was written before Him of those who revered the Lord and thought on His name.” Before worship begins, all worshippers are invited to write in our book the names of family members, friends, neighbors, and loved ones who have passed since All Saints Day last year, from November 3, 2019, to November 1, 2020. Our Book of Remembrance will be made available at worship each Sunday from November 1 through 18, 2020, on a table before the altar. Each Sunday, names written that week will be read.
Grand-families: Grand-families meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month in the Parlor. We will meet Saturday, November 14, at 10:30 am.
Operation Christmas Child: It’s time again for our annual Operation Christmas Child project. Due to the pandemic, we will be doing things a little differently this year – we are only accepting filled shoe boxes or monetary donations. No individual items please! If shopping for gifts is not practical for you right now, you may want to build a shoe box online at samaritanspurse.org/occ. Empty shoe boxes are available and I ask that you return them by November 15. See Deborah Bartlett (330-856-3538) with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your wondrous support of this very special project and God bless.
Work Day: On Saturday, November 28 there will be a Work Day at the church. The purpose of this work day will be to clean and decorate the sanctuary for Advent and install a garbage disposal in the kitchen. We will start at 9:00 am and hope to be done around noon. I would like to thank Brenda and Bill Hart, Bonnie Thompson, Judy Dodge4, Amy Martin, Jim Kuzman, Ron Wireman, and Marty Maurice for their help in cleaning windows in October. Thank you for your support. Tim Martin
Fall Food Outreach: St. Paul Church is reaching out to old and new friends with a fresh meal and food care packages that will be delivered once a month. For November and December, we are asking for donations of the following items: cereal, soup and crackers, canned meats, canned fruits, boxed potatoes and stuffing, gravy, canned sweet potatoes, corn, green beans, and cookies. Monetary donations can be made to the church with FOOD OUTREACH on the memo line. For more information, please contact Bonnie Thompson at 330-272-1400, Debbie Illencik at 234-308-1626 or Grace Shiau at 330-505-8175.
Thank You: To the Ladies: Enjoyed the dinner. I had two meals, fruit, and treats. All enjoyed! Thanks, Harriette Shaffer
Thank You: A huge thank you to St. Paul’s for the donations for our project “Bob’s Bibles”. We collected $553.00 towards the Bibles. We have emailed Bob and sent the money through the ELCA. God bless, Youth and Education
Thank You: Blessings! Thank you ALL so much for helping me get the Good News out to the indigenous people here in Panama. Pastor Ann Marie Winters had informed me about the project and I also heard her mention it last week on the church service video. I have given out many Bibles over the (almost) 10 years here. We had our first “unofficial” church service in the unfinished new church. I say “unofficial” because the COVID rules are for only 15 persons in a church service right now. When I started up the generator to run the equipment, 35 people came. I have had as many as 110 people worshipping with me when I only had the blue tarp over us. Thirty-five doesn’t seem like much, but the biggest Catholic church in San Felix only gets 10-13 during this time of COVID. I can’t wait until we can open the doors to all that want to come. The hunger for the Word in this area is strong. Again, thank you for your diligence in collecting funds for Bibles. I pray that you find a pastor to replace Ann Marie soon. Joyfully Serving Him, Bobby Moyer
Thank You: Thank you, thank you, and Danke Schoen! Thank you to everyone who helped with the Oktoberfest in any capacity. Whether you donated financially, baked, shopped, cooked, served, ran the raffles, were a runner, manned the parking lot, or helped in some other way, you are GREATLY APPRECIATED! It was a rousing success and netted $4,000.00 for the church. It was not our usual Oktoberfest, but it sure was a great substitute. Thank you and God’s blessings. Lorri Baudo and Diana Bauman
