ST. PAUL NEWS & EVENTS
THANK YOU: A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of the Pasta Dinner. It generated $2,175.00 that will go into the Boiler Fund. So many of you (our church family) contributed and helped in oh so many ways and we want to express our thankfulness to all of you. The center of the meal was the sauce, meatballs, and pasta for which we are extremely grateful to John and Darlene Cesta, Tom Skoczylas, Ron Wireman, and Eric Houlf. The rest of the meal was a gigantic group effort! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Until we meet again…Lorri Baudo and Diana Bauman
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your generous monetary donations as well as numerous items for our spring basket raffle. The baskets are beautiful and are brimming with lots of great “stuff” thanks to your generosity. Raffle tickets will be available on Sunday, April 18, and the drawing will be held on Thursday, April 22, at the Preschool Art Show. A report on the exact proceeds will be forthcoming. This has been a great fundraiser for our new heating system! With gratitude, Kay Paajanen and Brenda Ceplecci
We would like to thank the following members for their assistance and help during the past many weeks: Rodger and Diana Bartlett, Debbie Illencik, Tim Martin, and Kay Paajanen. Our new address and phone number: 3-3 N. Mecca St. #210, Cortland, OH 44410; 330-638-9142. Kenny & Jerry Wareham
FOOD OUTREACH: Delivery of hot meals continued on March 19. We also delivered boxes of shelf-stable foods to several families in need. We are thankful for the response from you. Our hope is to maintain the servant project, once a month, through the year, recognizing an essential need in the community and to keep communication with some of our members, too. The following suggested items are always appreciated: cereal, soup, pasta, canned meats (such as tuna, salmon, turkey, chicken), boxed potatoes, gravy, and peanut butter. The next scheduled delivery date is April 23. Monetary donations can be made to the church with FOOD OUTREACH on the memo line. Questions or suggestions, please contact Bonnie Thompson at 330-272-1400, Debbie Illencik at 234-308-1626 or Grace Shiau at 330-720-4579.
PROPERTY WORK WEEK: There will be a Property Work Week April 26-30. We will concentrate on trimming bushes and cleaning the beds. Work will begin at 6:00 pm and end by 8:00 pm. Arrive as you are able. We will work each evening until the job is completed. I thought this might give some people a chance to help without disrupting a weekend. Any and all help is welcome. Please use the sign-up sheet in the narthex. Thank you in advance. Please contact Tim Martin at 330-506-9214.
GRAND-FAMILIES: Grand-families meets on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month in the Parlor. We will meet Saturday, May 8 and 22, at 10:30 am.
LET’S TRY THIS AGAIN – RUMMAGE SALE: We are planning to have another Rummage Sale to be held on Saturday, August 7, with the proceeds going to the church’s general fund. Please begin to save your unwanted but useable items but DO NOT bring them to the church until further notice. This includes clothing, books, small appliances, tools, and household goods. As in the past, we will need lots of help with set up, pricing, and working at the sale. Thank you in advance for your donations and for any help that you are able to give. Please see Brenda Ceplecci (330-534-2388) or Bonnie Thompson (330-272-1400) with any questions.
